Small Business Saturday* is just around the corner! This Saturday, November 29th, go out and celebrate the small businesses around you! This could be the tailor who makes your hems that much cooler, or the barber who gives you that great haircut, or the restaurant that remembers your favorite dish, or the local store that knows your wants before you even know them. Small businesses are everywhere, so go show your support! Check out ShopSmall.com for more info!
Of course, for my post, I want to celebrate three small businesses who make WHISKEY-INFUSED CANDY. O-M-G. So amazing!
#1: Liddabit Sweets’ Bourbon Bacon Caramel Corn ($12.00 for 1 box): [Purchase]
Two words: BOURBON and BACON. Done. What more can you ask for? Liddabit Sweet’s delicious concoction of bourbon and bacon mixed in with their caramel corn is smokey with a hint of sweet and savory. Perfection, I would say. I can think of nothing better than to grab a bunchful of these little heavenly bites and watch all of my favorite holiday movies in one sitting: Die Hard (1-3), Elf, and Love Actually. What are you waiting for? Get a box!
#2: Lululosophy’s Fall Maple Whiskey, part of the Fall Dark Chocolate Assortment ($30.00 for 1 box): [Purchase]
Newcomer Lululosophy infuses White Pike Whiskey from the finger lakes with dark chocolate and some New York Roxbury Mountain maple syrup to create this stunning dark chocolate that’s part of a broader assortment. Mmmmmmmm, are you trying one yet?
#3: Vosges Haute-Chocolat’s Mash Bill Truffles ($40.00 for 1 box): [Purchase]
Okay, anyone who knows me knows I love Vosges’ Mo’s Milke Chocolate Bacon Bar. (So, yes, I have a thing for bacon…) Recently, I came across the Mash Bill Truffles… They are chocolate truffles mixed with various whiskeys, including a scotch (Bruichladdich Port Charlotte), a bourbon (Four Roses Single Barrel) and a rye (Templeton Rye). This is Vosges’ description (I couldn’t have explained it better):
“A mixture of corn, rye, barley and wheat, a traditional “mash bill” contains the perfect balance of “grist” – a bourbon connoisseur’s term for the fermented starch extracted from ground grain. Each grain contributes a different flavor profile – sweet, malty, peppery – giving each whiskey a singular flavor that stems from its age and individual grain combination.”
Don’t wait! Go get some!
*Full disclosure: I have worked on Small Business Saturday in the past, so I had to make sure I give it a shout-out this week!!!
