It’s October.
In New York City, that means the weather fluctuates from warm to hot to cold to freakishly cold in a matter of hours. What happens then? People get sick. Of course, New Yorkers work hard and play hard. So, before you know it, everyone at work is sick and then it gets to you.
Well, I’ve been battling the onset of a cold the last couple of days. Things were working—a tremendous amount of willpower plus lots of vitamin C. However, yesterday, it hit me like a storm: massive headache, extremely stuffy nose, and a sore throat. I was no happy camper.
After a long day’s worth of work and feeling sick, I needed something to get me warm and comfortable. Normally, I would opt for a Hot Toddy, but no way was I going to venture out to a bar last evening. (I’m a good samaritan!)
So, in that situation, there was only one thing that could make me feel better: a hottie at home, waiting to embrace me with its strength, comfort, hotness and tender sweetness.
Oh yes, I’m talking about my hottie: The Whiskey’d Hot-Tea.
Basically, it’s a camomile mint tea with hot water and a bit (or a lot, depending on sick you feel) of honey-flavored whiskey. In my case, it was Trader Joe’s Well Rested Herbal Tea with a shot of Wild Turkey American Honey.
The warmth of the tea coupled with the comfort of the sweet tasting whiskey made me feel nice and cozy inside. I went to bed with my hottie… my warm, comfortable, loving sweet Whiskey’d Hot-Tea and woke up feeling just better enough to get through another tough day.
So what’s your go-to-when-you’re-sick “Whiskey’d Hot-Tea”?
Signing out now.
In the meantime, keep it whisk(e)y!
